Baby basics - after baby #2!

*UPDATED* baby basics.

It's been so long....

Aiden is 3 (almost 4), and Hadley is 1! I can't believe so much time has passed. I think I totally failed my "blog", considering I have had no posts; but, I swear I still think about baby/kiddo products ALL THE TIME.  Let's see.....

In reality, the basics don't change depending on your lo's sex. No matter how many times I tried to tell myself that during my pregnancy, it just isn't as much fun. God bless my husband, Adam, for letting me do some retail celebration! With no objections, I might add....Love you, Adam.

"Favorites":

Sensitive wipes, Pamper's diapers, Desitin, Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Bath Wash & Lotion.

Burp cloths - still a necessity, as Hadley always spit up. The Carter's 6-packs of washcloths are a perfect size, and good quality. We used them for spit up when H was a baby, and now use them for baths and meal clean-up. I bought a set of pink ones, at Meijer.

Swaddlers - view my previous post for options. (Hadley absolutely hated being swaddled, total no-go.)

Again, we used Born Free bottles and our Bright Starts Bouncer.

With baby #2 I found myself using my baby wrap SO much more.  For the first month, while H was a sleepy newborn & Aiden was a maniac, loving brother, it was great to carry her on my chest while I cooked, cleaned, and took Aiden outside to play.

Graco, Step 1st, and Evenflow remain as my favorite car seat brands.  Amazon.com or Diapers.com are the best (online) options for buying!

We used Aiden's Graco Snugride as Hadley's infant car seat, then switched her to this, when she turned 1:

The Safety 1st Alpha Elite 65 car seat has been wonderful. It is rear-facing up to 40 pounds, forward-facing (reminder: only forward-facing once they are 2 yrs old), up to 65 pounds, and adjusts to a booster seat up to 100 pounds.

*Hadley reached the weight max (18 pounds) for her Graco Snugride at around 9 months. However, after a call to our community's child safety hotline, we were told that the distance of their head from the top of the seat (at least 2 inches) is much more important.  Even with her legs sticking out, the infant car seat was a safe bet for H.

Early foods & Snacks:
Gerber Yogurt Melts & puffs are still a favorite.

I am absolutely obsessed with Ella's Kitchen Organic Baby Food. For traveling, and when H was beginning "solid foods." 100% organic, 100% fruit and vegetables. Taste great (I actually tasted them, which I would NEVER do with Gerber baby food), and easy to squeeze in your lo's mouth if you're overwhelmed/short on time and utensils.

For now, that's it.  I would LOVE comments, questions - I'm obsessed with babies. Best of luck with your own!

-Sarah
